M&S COSMETICS is partner of the science based target initiative

MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS joined the science based target initiative (SBTi) in january 2023, committing to the development of science-based climate protection measures.

In 2015, UN member states agreed in the paris climate agreement to limit global warming to a maximum of 1.5 degrees celsius by 2050 compared to pre-industrial times. Only by reducing global warming can irreversible damage to the environment be minimized.

MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS would also like to make an active contribution to this and appreciates above all the sound scientific framework of the initiative. SBTi supports companies in defining, evaluating and validating targets to drive significant reductions in global greenhouse gas emissions in line with the goals of the paris agreement.

"For us as a company, targets according to the SBTi are of great advantage to make our climate goals credible and verifiable," explains Carmen Matzke from MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS' Research & Development. "We have to submit our measures to the SBTi. After the SBTi has reviewed them, we report our progress once a year, creating a high level of transparency."

Sustainable action has been firmly anchored in MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS' strategic orientation for several years. With the commitment to set scientifically based climate protection targets, MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS contributes to transparent and traceable climate protection.
