For most people, their own health is just as important as a happy family life and a good job. It is, after all, true that full-time employees spend a third of their day at work. It is therefore important to M&S COSMETICS to establish a working climate which is conducive to a sense of well-being and ultimately good health. We run annual health awareness days in cooperation with a large health insurance company. And our trainees have an input in the arrangements, busily helping to organise items for the varied programme. They carry out some projects of their own on various subjects like “healthy eating”. The young people worked with the local bakery for the health awareness days in spring 2016, creating healthy sandwiches for break times and distributing samples to their colleagues to try. Smoothies and muesli bars have also already featured on the agenda. Another initiative carried out in autumn 2016 as part of the health awareness days was a workplace inspection of all offices. Our employees were given key ergonomic tips during the walkabout which are easy to apply in practice in their daily work. All new offices at MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS will have height-adjustable desks, and existing desks will be gradually replaced. Alternating between standing and sitting relieves the strain on the back and is good for the circulation. In addition to the back, the eyes are also put under heavy strain, especially when working at computer monitors, which is why our company doctor carries out eye tests several times a year. If the test shows that an optical aid is needed, the MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS GROUP will contribute to the cost of computer glasses and will subsidise safety glasses of the relevant strength for the employee in question.
Joint sports activities
Sport is known to be healthy and exercise is twice as much fun in a group. With this in mind, some colleagues were sufficiently motivated to organise joint sports activities. Starting in March, there will be a weekly running meeting where everyone is welcome. There will then be several opportunities in the year to...…
Sport is known to be healthy and together it is twice as much fun. With this in mind, a few motivated colleagues have joined forces for joint sports activities. The trained endurance can then be put to the test several times a year at various company runs. Tennis is played every Monday evening in Bad Rappenau - outdoors in summer and indoors in winter.

In 2017, the MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS GROUP was named the best apprenticeship employer in the 500 - 2000 workforce category by the business magazine Capital. This award was not merely a fortuitous event but was earned on the basis of a systematic programme of support for trainees. “We run special seminars for our trainees on subjects like business etiquette, project management and time management, and we also organise a one-week preparatory course for examinations,” said Alexandra Fischer from the personnel department. Day trips, local get-togethers and regular meetings for both trainees and students promote a sense of togetherness and strengthen cohesion in the group. Trainees take charge of serious projects in the departments in connection with the health awareness days or girls' days, for example.“At the MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS GROUP, training means encouraging young talent but also challenging junior staff in their development so that everyone can fulfil their true potential,” added personnel manager Ms Fischer in a broad definition of the training policy in place at the MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS GROUP.
