Renewable and inexhaustible: M&S COSMETICS GROUP harnesses the power of the sun

The MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS GROUP had the huge roof of the “Packstofflager II” packaging materials storage in Hüffenhardt fitted with solar panels when it was built in 2015 in order to generate some of the electricity itself.

Why not use something which is there anyway?

The 714 m² solar system allows the power of the sun to be put to good use, as the radiant energy of sunlight is converted directly into electrical energy using photovoltaics. In April 2025, the existing solar system was expanded to include an additional 1,000 m² PV system in Siegelsbach. This means that the MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS GROUP now uses a total area of 1,714 m² for solar power generation.

The energy obtained in this way is fed into the electricity grid and is used wherever it is needed. This means that less electricity has to be purchased and the company can cover some of its electricity requirements with its own solar power. Systems and machines consume huge amounts of energy during the production processes.

Even though the quantities produced vary greatly due to the weather, solar power still makes a significant contribution when it comes to meeting our total requirements – from a practically inexhaustible source of energy.
